Who We Are

The Royal Association of Justices of South Australia (RAJSA) is a registered, charitable association that supports and represents Justices of the Peace and Authorised Witnesses across South Australia and the Northern Territory.

The RAJSA exists to promote professionalism, integrity, and confidence in witnessing services by providing education, guidance, resources, and collegial support. We respect the independence of statutory office holders while helping members practise their role as a JP  confidently and consistently in service to the community.

The RAJSA is not a government body, and we do not appoint, supervise, or regulate Justices of the Peace. Instead, we work constructively with government agencies and community organisations to support access to JPs, support Justices themselves and maintain public trust.

Our Purpose

To support Justices of the Peace and Authorised Witnesses so they can provide accessible, professional, and trusted witnessing services to the South Australian community.

Our Mission

To strengthen the role of Justices of the Peace through:

  • education and professional development
  • practical guidance and shared standards
  • connection, support, and representation

so that the community continues to have confidence in witnessing services.

Our Vision

A respected, professional, and sustainable Justice of the Peace community that is valued by government and trusted by the public, now and into the future.

Our Values

We are guided by the following principles:
